      Menneskerettighetsundervisning

      Helsingforskomiteen er en stor aktør på undervisning i menneskerettigheter og forsoning. Undervisningsprogrammet startet i Norge og på Balkan på 90-tallet og Helsingforskomiteen har nå undervisningsprogrammer på Balkan, i Ukraina, Hviterussland og i Russland.

      NHC participates in Russian-Ukrainian dialogue roundtable

      NHCs Enver Djuliman participated in the round-table discussion "Russian-Ukrainian dialogue: capabilities of civil society", organised by the Civic Union Educational Human Rights House in Chernihiv in partnership with a wide group of NGOs. The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and the Norwegian Helsinki Committee supported the discussion financially.

      Barents Press journalists in Oslo for three-day workshop with NHC

      Journalists in North West Russia and Norwegian journalists across the border experience some of the same challenges in their daily work. The Norwegian Helsinki Committee and the journalist association Barents Press are pleased that we are able to continue our cooperation and organise sessions where Norwegian and Russian journalists meet to exchange experiences and discuss human rights in journalism.

      The Norwegian Helsinki Committee organised 13-17 November 2016 a Human Rights School for 27 high school students from Murmansk and Kirkenes.

      Together with the Peace Research Center Oslo and the University College of Southeast Norway, the Norwegian Helsinki Committee on 22 January arranged the conference The Role of the University in the Building of Peace in Drammen.

      The role of universitites in peacebuilding

      A regional conference for universities adopted the Sarajevo Declaration on the Role of Higher Education and Civil Society in Education for Peace on 20 March 2014. The Norwegian Helsinki Committee organized the regional conference “The role of universities in peacebuilding” in Sarajevo on 20 March together with our local partners as part of our project Build Bridges, not Walls.

      The role of universities in peacebuilding

      As part of the NHC project on the role of Universities in peacebuilding, a conference was held 19-20 April in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aim of the conference was to initiate a dialogue on how universities can contribute to build and promote peace in the region. The University of Tuzla is one of five partner universities from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Kosovo, that participates in the project Build Bridges not Walls: the Role of the Universities in Peacebuilding.

      Sammen i sorgen

      25 mødre og enker fra Aserbajdsjan og Armenia møttes i Bosnia & Hercegovina fra 27. mars til 2. april for å dele sorgerfaringer etter store personlige traumer. Møtet kom i stand som en del av prosjektet The pain of human loss: Ceasefire, som er etablert av organisasjonene Center of Humanitarian Studies i Aserbajdsjan og Civil Society Institute i Armenia. Helsingforskomiteens Enver Djuliman er rådgiver i prosjektet.

      Hvordan undervise i menneskerettigheter?

      – Hver gang jeg begynner å jobbe med en gruppe, spør jeg om hva det betyr å lære om menneskerettigheter, hva det betyr å lære i det hele tatt, og hvordan forstår vi hva vi lærer? Menneskerettigheter former vår virkelighet, og oss som mennesker. Vi må kunne koble kunnskapen og forståelsen om men­neskerettighetene til vår egen hverdag, sier undervisningsleder i Helsingforskomiteen Enver Djuliman i et intervju FN-linken, som er FN-sambandets skolebrev.
