This was the main message in an oral statement at the UN Human Rights Council, supported by the Norwegian Helsinki Committee. The statement was made as in the context of repeated calls to decrease the number of recommendations that each state can make in the next round of reviews.
Avoid new limits on UPR recommendations
Limiting the number of recommendations in the Universal Periodic Review can be detrimental to the whole process. Instead states should focus on making concrete, specific and measurable recommendations.
