Erna Solberg underlines that the reason for her nomination is that Memorial is a grassroot organisation that helps people take care of their human rights.-Their work has been so controversial that two of its activists have been abducted and killed, she says.
Gannushkina and Memorial nominated
The Norwegian Helsinki Committee is pleased to note media reports that the Norwegian parliamentarian Erna Solberg, the Conservative party leader, has nominated the Russian NGO ‘Memorial’ and Svetlana Gannushkina to the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize.
